Destiny: The Taken King Sleeper Simulant Quest Revelead – The First Firewall

A new quest just opened up for Destiny: The Taken King players, entitled The First Firewall.  This quest is strongly suspected to be linked to the Sleeper Simulant, an exotic Heavy Fusion rifle.  It seems that Bungie decided to time lock this quest, in order to give us more time to enjoy other aspects of the Taken King.  This quest can only be obtained after you have collected the for DVALIN fusion riffle relics. This quest opens up many more mysteries that may not be solved yet.

The four Dark Age fusion rifle relics must be collected in order to unlock this mission.  If you haven’t yet collected the relics do not worry.  The relics drop randomly by defeating enemies, so just keep playing.  The rifles will drop in the same order every time.  The numerical order that the relics drop is: 2 -1 – 4 -3.  You must turn them in to the Gunsmith in order to have the next one drop.  Plus you get Gunsmith reputation for collecting them!

Once you have all 4 relics: The First Firewall unlocks in the Cosmodrone.  This mission is relatively straight forward.  You enter Rasputin base and some Hive and Taken Knights spawn.  Kill four waves of knights and an Ultra knight will spawn and drop a Curious Transceiver.  The transceiver asks for special codes.  In typically Destiny fashion the game does not tell you how to figure out the code.  However if we remember the knights that spawned during the First Firewall mission, we begin to notice a pattern.

Knights Spawning

The Knights spawn in a specific order that is reminiscent of binary code.  For example the first wave of knights spawn in this order: Hive, Taken, Hive, Hive, Taken, Taken, Taken, Hive, Taken.  We can then convert this to 0, 1, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 1.  This is the first code for the Curious Transceiver.  Here are the four codes required to turn on the transceiver.

First: 0, 1, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 1

Second: 0, 1, 0, 0, 1, 1, 0, 0

Third: 0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0

Fourth: 0, 1, 0, 1, 0, 1, 0, 0

Curious Transceiver

The screen for inputting the codes has a two rows of bubbles.  The top row represents Hive and the Bottom row represents Taken.  In this case the top row represents 0’s and the bottom row represents 1.

After inputting all the codes you will unlock another mission: Shadow Call in the Cosmodrone.  Good Luck Guardians.

I will update this post with pictures once my xbox stops being silly.
