So lately I have been playing a lot of Halo 4. I mean so much so that I reached the daily XP cap yesterday, I didn’t even realize I hit it because I had never done so before. I think it was because I got the monthly challenge, 117 wins!, but I hit the cap nonetheless. Playing any game this much would leave you with a list of things that you like and dislike. I dislike ordnances.
As such, I have a few gripes with the Halo 4 multiplayer. Don’t get me wrong I would not play the game so much if I didn’t really love it, and I can tell you right away that it is better than Reach, but the Ordnances are almost game breakingly dumb.
You’ll know what I am talking about if you have ever faced an enemy team in control of multiple Binary Rifles. Ordnance drops reward the player for playing well, which I am okay with, but it rewards them randomly, which I am not okay with. This randomness results in a sometimes useless ordnance, i.e. frag nades, needler, over shield. I don’t want any of those, when I get an ordnance I am always hoping for Binary Rifle, Rockets, or Damage Boost. Duh. But this randomness also results in the possibility of one team with all the bad ordnances and the other with all the good ones.
So what am I proposing? Get rid of Ordnances altogether? Yes! The game should still reward players that play well. But they should do it in a consistent and static way. The way past Halo games have done this is with weapon spawns on map. A good player can kill an enemy player for control of these power weapons and can then use them for more kills. Also a single Binary Rifle on the map would eliminate the possibility of multiple people in possession of a single power weapon.
I could go on and on, and perhaps I will in future posts. But to keep it short, 343i if you are reading this. Add a playlist that has static weapon spawns on map, IMO this would make the maps more memorable and the games more fun. Just try it, I’m sure I’m not the only one asking for this.
